Essential cookies
We use essential cookies to ensure the proper functioning of our website/application. These cookies are strictly necessary to enable basic features such as security, network management, your cookie preferences and accessibility. Without them, you would not be able to use the basic services. You can disable them by changing your browser settings, but this may affect the functioning of the websites.
Authentication and session (Clerk): authentication (Clerk) and the secure operation of the session may set technical cookies necessary for the service. They are not subject to the same regime as analytics trackers.
Performance and functionality cookies
These cookies or equivalent storage improve ease of use (interface preferences, remembering certain choices). Without technical authentication cookies, the secure session cannot be maintained; without accepting analytics trackers, Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are not loaded (see below).
Analytics and personalization cookies
These trackers help us understand how the site is used and detect performance problems. In the current deployment, they are only enabled after acceptance via the banner(except for strict regional configuration requiring explicit opt-in, see below).
We use cookies provided by Vercel to collect limited data directly from end users' browsers in order to better understand your use of our website/application. You can find more information about how Vercel collects and uses this data at the following address: vercel.com/legal/cookie-policy.
Analytics and performance (optional): on the current platform, Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are only loaded after acceptance via the banner displayed on the site. You can withdraw your consent by clearing the site data for this domain in the browser settings or by refusing the trackers via the banner when it appears; a dedicated option in the application may be added later.
European Union (anticipation): in the event of a deployment to users in the European Union, a strict opt-in mode may be enabled via the environment variable NEXT_PUBLIC_PRIVACY_STRICT_REGION=eu(see the project's privacy implementation plan) after product and legal validation. When this mode is active, no such third-party analytics or performance-measurement tool is used without explicit consent, in accordance with the behavior provided for in the application.
Third-party cookies
Some cookies placed on our website/application are not placed as first-party by Background Buddy. Websites may embed content from third parties for advertising purposes. These third-party service providers may place their own cookies on your web browser. Third-party service providers control many of the performance and functionality, advertising, marketing and analytics cookies described above. We do not control the use of these third-party cookies, as they are only accessible to the third party that originally placed them.

However, if you limit the ability of websites to set cookies, you may harm your overall user experience, as it will no longer be personalized.
